WOBURN, Mass. — A Massachusetts man accidentally shot his friend in the neck the day after getting his license to carry a gun, investigators said.
The Woburn Police Department said Alec Augustino Braz, 22, unintentionally shot his 19-year-old friend around 3:15 p.m. Saturday while showing him a .40 caliber Smith and Wesson handgun, WFXT reported.
The victim, who has not been identified, was taken to a hospital with injuries that were not life threatening.
Braz was arrested and charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a building and improper storage of a firearm, WFXT reported.
Braz’s license to carry was immediately suspended by police.
