Conference rival reportedly gearing up for another big run at top coordinator Dave Aranda

Texas A&M isn’t giving up on its pursuit of LSU defensive coordinator Dave Aranda.

Following a report that Aranda spurned the Aggies to stay with the Tigers earlier this week, Sports Illustrated’s Bruce Feldman claimed that A&M is prepared to make a second run at the coach, which would include a deal that would pay him $1 million more than any other defensive coordinator in college football.

On Monday, Ross Dellenger of The Advocate reported that Aranda elected to stay in Baton Rogue, despite a lucrative initial deal from A&M.

It’s worth noting that the coordinator is already reportedly the highest-paid assistant coach in college football with a $1.85 million salary in 2018, which means LSU would likely continue to match the Aggies’ offers.

Either way, it seems Aranda will continue to benefit from the SEC rivals’ bidding war.
