Crates are no longer great on TikTok.

TikTok, which helped publicize this summer’s viral craze of stacking milk crates in a pyramid formation and trying to climb them like walking up a flight of stairs, has banned the activity on the video-sharing app, USA Today reported.

TikTok has deleted search results for the hashtag “milk crate challenge” and said in a statement that the challenge was publicizing a dangerous activity, according to CNN.

“TikTok prohibits content that promotes or glorifies dangerous acts, and we remove videos and redirect searches to our Community Guidelines to discourage such content,” a spokesperson said. “We encourage everyone to exercise caution in their behavior whether online or off.”

The challenge began with a simple idea, which can lead to humorous results. A person gathers milk crates and stacks them in a pyramid formation. The person attempts to step up one side of the crates and then down the other without falling.

Inevitably, the person fails and tumbles to the ground.

Critics call the challenge a viral meme that has become a public health hazard, similar to the Tide Pod Challenge, The Washington Post reported.

Charlotte Corke, an intensive care unit nurse in Minnesota, called it “horrifying and dangerous.”

“It’s just weird. We’re already seeing people die from COVID, and now I’m seeing patients in the ER with head injuries from this TikTok challenge,” Corke told USA Today.
