Marques Houston is celebrating the birth of his first child.

The former Sister, Sister star and his wife, Miya Dickey, welcomed their daughter, Zara, on December 2, Us Weekly reports.

"Miya chose the name Zara because she just felt like it was exotic. [There was] no special reason," Houston says. "She just wanted our girl to have a memorable name that wasn't the average name. It still feels surreal, like, it hasn't set in yet that we are actually not just babysitting one of our friends' kids. But not getting any sleep definitely reminds us that we are now parents."

The couple were engaged in March 2019, and married in August 2020.

Marques began his career in 1990 at the age of nine in the group Immature, which later changed its name to IMx. He's released six solo albums, with his latest, titled Famous, dropping in 2013. In addition to starring on television in Sister, Sister from 1994-1999, his acting credits also include House Party 3 and House Party 4.
