COWETA COUNTY, GA — The Georgia State Patrol is investigating a deadly ATV crash that killed a young boy in Coweta County Monday afternoon.

According to GSP, troopers responded to Pate Road, east of Newnan, around 4:15 p.m. on October 19 after receiving reports of a fatal crash.

Investigators say the boy was driving a green Honda ATV southbound on Pate Road when he failed to maintain his lane and traveled off the west side of the roadway.

The ATV struck a mailbox before veering left, crossing the road and traveling off the east side, where it overturned.

The boy was thrown from the ATV and pronounced dead at the scene.

The child’s name has not been released, and no additional injuries were reported.

The Georgia State Patrol continues to investigate the crash.
