ATLANTA — Drivers should prepare for another full closure along a portion of I-285 this weekend as work continues on a three-year surface replacement project.
All northbound and southbound lanes of I-285 will be closed between Cascade Road and Martin Luther King Jr. Drive beginning at 7 p.m. Friday.
The closure will remain in place through 5 a.m. Monday.
The work is part of a three-year project replacing the surface along a 10-mile stretch of the aging highway.

Drivers are being advised to avoid the affected section of I-285 and expect significant delays throughout the weekend.
Traffic will be detoured using Langford Parkway, I-20 and the Downtown Connector.
Drivers should plan alternate routes and allow additional travel time.
The Georgia Department of Transportation has not indicated whether the weekend heat will affect the work schedule.
