The U.S. has lifted its ban on TikTok on federal government devices.
The Justice Department previously reversed course on the ban following a new joint venture involving the China-based social media company and American investors.
TikTok’s parent company, ByteDance, still retains an ownership stake of nearly 20%.
The new deal is believed to ease national security and privacy concerns surrounding the social media platform.
ByteDance has long denied sharing information with the Chinese government.
