DEKALB COUNTY, GA — A robot dog helped lead police to solve a drive-by shooting in July that left two people dead in metro Atlanta.
Police say 13-year-old Demarcus Shirley and 45-year-old Chauncey Newman were killed in the shooting at a apartment complex on Rockcliff Road in DeKalb County on July 2.
Undaunted Robotic Security CEO Brian Dinner says their robot dogs stationed at an apartment complex in DeKalb County took a photo of the man wanted in the drive-by.
Dinner says that later led police to the arrest of 21-year-old Keyshun Webb. A 16-year-old was also arrested in August in connection with the shooting.
Webb and the unidentified 16-year-old both are accused of murder.
“DeKalb asked if we seen anyone matching this description so we shared it,” he said. “We were able to get a close-up image of the person’s face from the robot.”
Undaunted is providing 134 personal security units or robot dogs in apartment complexes across the metro Atlanta area.
