ATLANTA — A majority of American adults have negative feelings about artificial intelligence, according to a new poll by ABC News and the Washington Post.
The poll found that 57% say the technology is bad for society. Officials say another percentage believes the biggest threat from the technology is the potential hacking into secure systems.
Job losses and even human extinction were also named as risks, according to the poll.
Fewer Americans believe in AI’s promises, with just one-third of respondents saying it’ll make everyday tasks easier, according to the poll.
