DEKALB COUNTY, GA — Officials have found additional mosquito traps testing positive for West Nile Virus in Belvedere Park, Candler-McAfee, Lithonia, Stonecrest, Tucker and Chamblee.
Since July, there have been 14 traps that have tested positive. The last positive mosquito traps were reported almost two weeks ago.
While there have been no positive human cases in DeKalb County, there have been eight cases in Georgia, including one death this month. During insect season, which lasts through October, The Georgia Department of Public Health is encouraging people to use EPA-registered insect repellants that contain DEET.
