ATLANTA — There’s positive news about insurance rates in Georgia.
Georgia leaders say more than 40 companies that offer home, auto, and business insurance coverage have reported rate decreases.
State Rep. Matt Reeves sponsored a bill to deal with skyrocketing premiums. He says this is welcome news.
“We’ve got a snowball effect of savings and affordability that Georgians can experience if they shop around their home, auto and business insurance policies,” Reeves said.
Georgia leaders have been working to try and get rates to drop, and even passed a bill on insurance affordability earlier this year.
According to Reeves, the savings from 41 companies adds up to $500 million in savings for 3.6 million policy holders in Georgia.
“That is the best in the country right now,” Reeves said. “That is because we have kept insurance affordability as a top priority and the people of Georgia are starting to experience that. If Georgians shop around on insurance policies, they can save money, and many of them already have.”
