ATLANTA — A man federal prosecutors call Atlanta’s “Master of Disguise” is facing federal charges connected to a series of armed robberies across metro Atlanta.

Federal prosecutors say 33-year-old Tracy Mingo endangered more than a dozen store employees during 10 armed robberies between October 2025 and January 2026.

According to the FBI, Mingo used disguises to avoid being identified while allegedly targeting businesses across the area.

“During his months-long reign of terror, Mingo allegedly endangered the lives of more than a dozen store employees across ten different locations by robbing them at gunpoint,” said U.S. Attorney Theodore S. Hertzberg. “I am proud of the collaborative efforts of the FBI and our local police partners to identify Mingo and arrest him before anyone was seriously hurt.”

The investigation began after a series of armed robberies, including a December 2025 robbery at a Subway restaurant in Marietta. Police previously said the suspect entered the business with a gun, demanded money from employees and left the scene.

Federal investigators later connected Mingo to additional robberies across metro Atlanta during the months-long investigation.

Mingo was arraigned Thursday on robbery-related charges. Mingo would face a mandatory minimum sentence of 63 years of imprisonment if convicted.

The case remains under investigation.
