ATLANTA — A man accused in a million-dollar investment scheme targeting former NFL players and other professional athletes has been found dead in New Jersey.
Police are investigating the death of Mohamed Coulibaly.
Authorities previously identified Coulibaly as the organizer of a scheme that allegedly sold fake ownership stakes in online businesses to professional athletes.
Three former NFL players say they lost more than $1 million through investments tied to Coulibaly, including former University of Georgia linebacker Tae Crowder.
Police have not released additional details about Coulibaly’s death. The cause of his death is under investigation.
