DEKALB COUNTY, GA — DNA has tied a Florida man to the rape of a 19-year-old woman in metro Atlanta more than a decade ago.
Investigator Brandi Rogers with the DeKalb County District Attorney’s Office says the victim was attacked after arriving for a babysitting job 42-year-old Julius Hunter advertised on Craigslist.
“Having some piece of mind and whatever closure feels like for them, we would love to be able to have the opportunity to help them,” Rogers said.
Hunter has been extradited from Florida to DeKalb County, officials said.
Rogers says Hunter’s DNA matched two similar attacks so far in DeKalb and Gwinnett counties. However, investigators have not been able to connect with those victims.
Rogers says investigators believe other victims are out there.
