ATLANTA — Gov. Brian Kemp and Georgia’s first lady are traveling to Chile and Peru this week as part of an economic development mission aimed at bringing more business to the state.
According to the governor’s office, Kemp and the first lady will meet with job creators that have operations in Georgia, as well as high-ranking government officials in both countries.
Representatives from the Georgia Department of Economic Development will also join the trip.
The department says companies moved nearly $1 billion worth of business through Georgia to Chile and Peru last year.
Kemp called both countries important partners in securing reliable supply chains, particularly in the forestry and agriculture industries.
Atlanta-based Delta also works closely with a Chilean airline to provide connectivity between South and North America.
