ATLANTA — Georgia students are showing continued improvement in several subjects following the latest round of milestone testing, according to state education officials.

Deputy Superintendent for Assessment and Accountability Dr. Allison Timberlake says scores improved or remained steady on 12 of 13 assessments in math, science and social studies.

Timberlake says math scores saw a third consecutive year of improvement across most grade levels.

“Results increased or held steady on 12/13 assessments in math, science and social studies,” Timberlake said.

The latest report did not include updated English language arts scores because of changes to testing standards.

State education officials say the results will help guide decisions on instruction and student support.
