Georgia health officials warn of possible measles exposure at a LongHorn Steakhouse

PERRY, GA — The Georgia Department of Public Health (DPH) is warning residents about a possible measles exposure at a LongHorn Steakhouse in Perry as state officials investigate measles cases in Georgia.

According to DPH, a person who tested positive for measles visited the LongHorn Steakhouse on Hampton Court in Perry on October 7.

Health officials say anyone who was at the restaurant between 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. that day may have been exposed to the virus.

DPH is urging anyone who visited the restaurant during that time to check their vaccination status and monitor for symptoms of measles.

People who are not immune through vaccination or a previous measles infection should watch for symptoms through October 28.

Symptoms of measles include high fever, cough, runny nose and watery eyes. Those symptoms are followed by a red rash that begins on the head and spreads to the rest of the body.
