ATLANTA — Georgia farmers who have been negatively impacted by record-high diesel prices will be getting some welcomed aid.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture announced that farmers will be getting a share of the $8 billion in aid.
According to State Agriculture Secretary Tyler Harper, the money will help lower costs for consumers.
“It helps us ensure that we work to lower prices in the grocery store,” he said. “Investment in American agriculture is how we make and ensure food prices in America continue to stay affordable.”
Harper says he’s not sure exactly how much money Georgia farmers will be receiving.
