FULTON COUNTY, GA — A new report from Fulton County shows the number of people experiencing homelessness increased over the past year.
According to the 2026 Point-in-Time Count Report, 323 people were identified as experiencing homelessness in Fulton County, excluding the City of Atlanta.
The number of homeless people increased by more than 30%.
The report found 146 people were experiencing unsheltered homelessness, while 177 people were staying in emergency shelters or transitional housing.
Adult-only households accounted for 85.9% of all households counted, according to the report.
Unsheltered homelessness was most concentrated in East Point, Roswell and Alpharetta. Those three cities accounted for 57.5% of the unsheltered count, officials added. The report also found the county’s housing inventory decreased by 8.7%, largely due to a decline in Rapid Re-Housing capacity.
“The Point-in-Time Count helps us better understand the needs of individuals and families experiencing homelessness across Fulton County,” said Stan Wilson, director of the Fulton County Department of Community Development. “This data helps guide our planning, strengthens collaboration with community partners, and supports efforts to connect people with the housing and services they need.”
Fulton County’s Continuum of Care says the data will be used to guide outreach efforts, expand housing resources and improve services for people experiencing homelessness.
