ATLANTA — The full closure of the westside perimeter of I-285 in metro Atlanta that was previously scheduled for this upcoming weekend has been postponed due to weather, officials said.

It has been rescheduled for next weekend, Sept. 18 through Sept. 21, according to officials. All lanes will be closed on I-285 from Cascade Road to Langford Parkway next weekend, weather permitting.

The work to repair and replace concrete slabs along the I-285 westside corridor is scheduled for completion in 2028.

The project involves replacing aging concrete slabs along a roughly 17-mile stretch of I-285 over the next three years, which requires multiple weekend closures.

“This $206 million effort is one of two major projects to repair and replace concrete slabs along the I-285 westside corridor,” GDOT officials previously said.
