COBB COUNTY, GA — Five people were arrested and two Cobb County police officers were injured following a high-speed chase involving a U-Haul truck connected to an armed robbery investigation in Memphis, Tennessee.

Police say officers spotted the U-Haul on Interstate 285 and attempted a traffic stop. Investigators say the driver fled, leading officers from Cobb County, Sandy Springs and the Georgia State Patrol on a pursuit that ended on Riverview Road in Sandy Springs.

Police say the driver jumped out of the U-Haul and ran without putting the truck in park.

The U-Haul rolled backward, pinning one officer against a patrol car. Another officer was also injured in the collision.

Police say neither officer is believed to have life-threatening injuries.

Investigators say the driver was taken into custody along with four other people who were in two separate vehicles.

The investigation into the incident and the armed robbery case in Memphis and in Atlanta remains ongoing.
