COBB COUNTY, GA — The Cobb County Sheriff’s Office is updating its guidance for the use of license plate reading cameras.
Assistant Chief Gina Hawkins says the agency previously conducted audits of its license plate reader system twice a year.
“We’re going to have only 50 people who are able in our whole organization to access this particular software,” Hawkins said.
Hawkins says the department is also limiting access to the software to those 50 employees.
The Cobb County Sheriff’s Office has not reported any cases of misuse involving the license plate reader system.
Audits are expected to happen every quarter, officials said.
