Canton man charged in connection with deadly crash sentenced to prison

CANTON, GA — A metro Atlanta man has been sentenced to prison in connection to a deadly crash involving a cyclist in October of 2025.

Prosecutors say Lane Keyes, 43, of Canton, pleaded guilty to homicide by vehicle, DUI and other charges.

Prosecutors say Keyes was driving his Rivian truck at speeds of more than 90 miles per hour at the time.

Keyes is accused of hitting and killing 51-year-old Carlos Moreno Gutierrez on Hickory Flat Highway and Sugar Pike Road.

Gutierrez was a father of four children.

Keyes is sentenced to serve 10 years in prison.
