ATLANTA — A 19-year-old has been charged in connection with the deadly shooting of a former Georgia State University football player on Tuesday.
Officers responded to a shooting at 55 Maple St. around 3 p.m. Upon arrival, officers found three men with gunshot wounds. Another person was transported to Grady Hospital by a private vehicle.
Officials say 35-year-old Demazio Skelton Jr. was killed in the shooting.
Police arrested Naim Smith in connection with the shooting. Smith faces multiple charges including murder, aggravated assault and armed robbery.
The identities and conditions of the other victims are unknown.
According to Atlanta Police Lt. Christopher Butler, the people involved apparently knew each other.
Smith was later taken to Fulton County Jail.
The investigation remains ongoing.
