GWINNETT COUNTY, GA — Seven members of an organized auto break-in ring have pleaded guilty to charges connected to nearly 500 vehicle break-ins across Gwinnett County.
According to the Gwinnett County District Attorney’s Office, the crimes happened between Nov. 24, 2022, and March 28, 2024. Police noticed a pattern involving cargo vans being broken into at night and high-end painting equipment being stolen.
Investigators say the group broke into 492 vehicles, stealing guns, cash and other items. The group also stole several vehicles in Gwinnett County and used them to commit additional vehicle break-ins and thefts in neighboring counties.
The seven defendants are Javaris Cardell Gamble, Myles David Cameron, Kylija Devion Yates, Randy D. Martinez, Emmanuel Chavarria-Ornelas, Giovanni Louis Bell and Kejuan Donarius Miliam.
All seven pleaded guilty to violating Georgia’s RICO Act, along with multiple charges that included entering an automobile with intent to commit theft or a felony, entering an automobile, theft by taking and misdemeanor criminal trespass.
Each defendant received a 20-year sentence, but the amount of time each will spend in prison varies.
Miliam was sentenced to serve 14 years in prison, while Gamble will serve 12 years. Yates, Cameron and Martinez will each serve 10 years. Chavarria-Ornelas will serve five years, while Bell will serve two years and six months in prison followed by three years of work release.
