3-year-old girl injured after being hit by car in Newnan

NEWNAN, GA — An investigation is underway after a three-year-old girl was hit by a car in Newnan earlier this week.

Newnan police responded to a 911 call about a child hit by a car on Pinson Street just after 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Officers learned the girl was playing in the front yard of a home before walking into the street.

At the same time, a car was traveling on Pinson street and hit the child after she entered the road.

“Due to the nature of the crash and the child’s injuries, she was airlifted to an Atlanta-area hospital for treatment. As of Thursday, she has been released from the hospital,” Newnan police officials said.

It is unclear if any charges are being filed.
