20 people charged in connection to drug, gun trafficking in Georgia

ATLANTA — Twenty Atlanta residents, including five people tied to the Atlanta-based GoodFellas gang, are facing federal gun and drug trafficking charges, according to the U.S. Department of Justice.

Department of Justice officials say gang members are accused of stealing nearly 1,500 guns from shipping facilities in Conley and Macon between November 2025 and January 2026.

According to U.S. Attorney Theodore S. Hertzberg, three GoodFellas members stole 724 Glock pistols from a Conley shipping facility in November. Prosecutors say another 469 firearms were stolen from a Macon facility in January, followed by another 293 firearms from the same facility days later.

Hertzberg says other GoodFellas members made money selling drugs while armed.

“The indictment further alleges that seven defendants trafficked these stolen firearms,” Hertzberg said. “Thankfully, the defendants unwittingly sold some of those guns to undercover federal agents who were able to take those guns off of the street.”

Federal investigators also seized about 24 kilograms of methamphetamine, 22 kilograms of marijuana, 40 grams of cocaine base and 27 grams of fentanyl during searches at 12 locations in the Atlanta area in May.

Authorities also seized firearms and a pill press used to manufacture counterfeit pills.

“Stealing nearly 1,500 firearms and flooding our communities with guns and drugs is more than brazen criminal conduct; it is a direct attack on public safety,” said ATF Atlanta Field Division Special Agent in Charge Benjamin Gibbons. “The GoodFellas gang and their associates allegedly put deadly firepower on the streets across multiple states and even beyond our borders.”

FBI officials say five defendants were arrested Tuesday, while 10 others were arrested previously. Several others are being held in custody and are expected to appear in federal court at a later date.

Samuel Harris and Demontra Williams remain fugitives, according to federal prosecutors.
