1 in custody after separate threats made at 2 Rockdale County high schools

ROCKDALE COUNTY, GA — One person is in custody after being accused of making threats at two Rockdale County high schools on Tuesday.

The two schools were placed on lockdown as authorities investigate separate threats made against the schools.

Conyers police and the Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office are responding to threats made at Rockdale County High School and Heritage High School.

Both schools were placed on lockdown as a precaution.

Police say they were able to match the individuals information to the phone number used to make the threat.

The person is believed to be experiencing a mental health crisis, according to officials. Their identity was not released by police.

The schools will send messages to parents with additional information.
