Kanye West's recent controversial behavior has inspired a documentary that's making its way to BBC. According to VarietyWe Need to Talk About Kanye explores how his behavior affects his position in pop culture.

"Ye's recent behavior has prompted both condemnation and a re-evaluation of his place in popular culture," says Jeremy Lee, a producer on the documentary. "With recent events as a starting point, the documentary and accompanying eight-part podcast series explore Ye's two decades in the public eye amid a rumored YE2024 election campaign."

He notes the documentary is unique because it's "underpinned with world-class journalism and unique access to members of Ye’s inner circle" and "is a revelation-driven film which sheds new light on recent events."

We Need to Talk About Kanye, fronted by investigative journalist Mobeen Azhar, has already been acquired by several high-profile broadcasters and platforms, according to Variety. It's slated to premiere on BBC later this year.

Lee says Ye "is aware of but has no editorial control over the documentary."
