Rapper T-Pain and his bodyguard were questioned by Atlanta police in the Atlanta airport Friday after a gun was found at a TSA checkpoint, police said.

Atlanta rap star T-Pain was questioned by police Friday at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport after a gun was allegedly found in his carry-on bag by the Transportation Security Administration, authorities confirmed.

T-Pain, also known Faheem Rashad Najm, and his bodyguard Carlos Aleili Flores were going through the airport's main domestic checkpoint around 1:40 p.m. when the firearm was found in Najm’s backpack, Atlanta police spokeswoman Stephanie Brown told AJC.com.

Around that time, T-Pain, 32, tweeted that he “might be a tad bit late today. Things at the Atlanta airport are getting ... eventful.”

They were both released after police confirmed Najm had a valid permit to carry the firearm.

Police said they will continue investigating to determine if either Najm or Flores will face charges for possession of a weapon at a TSA checkpoint, Brown said.
