ATLANTA (Dec. 15, 2017) – Delta Community Credit Union, Georgia’s largest credit union with more than $5.6 billion in assets, in partnership with Atlanta radio station KISS 104, awarded the last of four scholarships it will distribute in 2017 to students attending a Historically Black College or University (HBCU). The $2,000 award was presented yesterday to Antonio McMillan.

A native of Fairburn, Georgia, McMillan graduated from Hapeville Charter Career Academy in College Park. Now a junior at Savannah State University majoring in biology, McMillan plans to pursue a career as an orthodontist.

“This scholarship will ease the burden of paying for upcoming test registration, housing and other expenses,” said McMillan. “I strive every day to leave a positive mark on campus that will last long after I graduate from Savannah State. I appreciate Delta Community’s help in achieving my personal and career goals.”

McMillan helped found Savannah State’s first Pre-Dental Society, which collects and donates dental supplies to a Savannah homeless shelter and recruits chemistry and microbiology faculty to help Society members prepare for the Dental Admissions Test. He is an Honor/Dean’s List student and a member of Golden Key International Honor Society and the National Society of Leadership Success.

With this presentation, the Delta Community-KISS 104 HBCU Scholarship program has awarded a total of $8,000 in 2017 to select students attending HBCUs in Georgia. Recipients are identified through contests carried out on KISS 104.
