WATCH: Big Boi defends NFL Super Bowl performance

This year’s Super Bowl headliners sparked a bit of controversy.

Performances from Travis Scott, Maroon 5 and Big Boi, HotNewHipHop. com reports, seemed to clash with issues looming over the NFL and Colin Kaepernick.

Addressing the controversy retrospectively, Big Boi recently spoke out and defended his choice to work with the NFL during an interview on “Ebro in the Morning.”

In the clip below, HNHH reports that Big Boi emphasizes how “people who protest against the NFL do it in a selective, unauthentic manner.”

"How you going to protest, and you're still participating?" Big Boi asked.

He added, "I'mma think for myself and I'mma do what I know what I wanna do. And do what's right for me and my people.

“You can't [be] selective and do a protest when it's convenient for you."
