Spotlight Gold: Sylvia - “Pillow Talk”

Pillow Talk by pioneer, producer, and songwriter Sylvia Robinson was released in 1973, and hit Number 1 on Billboard's black singles chart in 1973. Sylvia originally wrote the song for Al Green, but Al Green thought it was too risky since it was about sexual self confidence, according to reports.

Sylvia Robinson was 75 when she suffered a heart failure in 2011 in New Jersey. She’s also known for building the very first rap label.
