Facebook and Instagram are asking users to be a bit more careful with their eggplant and peach emojis.
The social media platforms have reportedly banned the use of 'sexual' emojis in an effort to curb sexual solicitation on the platforms, Electronic Urban Report's Ny Magee writes.
According to the New York Post, Facebook's new community standards, which also cover Instagram, went into effect almost two months ago.
“Users will no longer be able to pair an eggplant or peach emoji, which qualifies as ‘sexual solicitation,’” Magee writes, adding, “A violation of the terms can get a user’s account flagged or removed.”
In a statement to The Post, Instagram representatives said, "[Content] will only be removed from Facebook and Instagram if it contains a sexual emoji alongside an implicit or indirect ask for nude imagery, sex or sexual partners, or sex chat conversations."
Facebook reps echoed those sentiments in a statement to media sources, saying, “We often make updates to our Community Standards.
“We publish these changes on our Community Standards site so our community is aware.”
Magee points out that one celebrity is more than likely very excited about the new standards -- Kanye West recently claimed social media makes men suffer “like Jesus.”
