Lindsey Vonn airlifted off Mountain after crashing during Olympic downhill race

She was determined to see the Winter Olympics through a week after rupturing her ACL. 13.4 seconds into her run on the Olympia della Tofane course it was over after she clipped a gate. The 41-year-old knew it would be a risk but was still hopeful to reclaim a gold medal in the women’s downhill.

The three-time Olympic medalist was airlifted off the side of the mountain by a helicopter several minutes later.

She could be heard screaming in pain after she fell.
