Governor Kemp gives Georgians some more relief at the pump

Gov. Kemp suspends gas tax as prices continue to soar The current average for gas in Georgia is $4.19 a gallon. Diesel is $6.24 a gallon, according to AAA.

Governor Brian Kemp has declared a state of emergency and suspended Georgia’s motor fuel excise tax. The suspension will remain in effect until Oct. 29.

Kemp is suspending the state gas tax because of the soaring prices of gas and diesel fuel.
