Gary, Indiana Still No Power

Power outage in Gary, Indiana could press into a second week leaving thousands of residents in the dark. In Indiana, around 66,909 customers are without power.

The power outages came after severe storms caused deadly floods in that have killed at least seven people.

Melody Birmingham, the executive vice president of NiSource, NIPSCO’s parent company, the damage done is among the “most extensive and complex systems our crews have encountered.”
