She says he raped and robbed her after kidnapping her outside an Austell CVS; he testified that he was so handsome, she wanted to go somewhere to have sex with him.  But in Darrious Mathis' retrial, a jury didn't buy his story.  Last September, a Cobb County jury deadlocked 11 to one to convict him and the trial ended in a hung jury.  This week, Mathis was convicted of raping and kidnapping the 24-year-old victim at gunpoint.  His sentence is expected later this week.

Four people are now under arrest after Tuesday's shooting outside Banneker High School.  Union City Police have charged two juveniles with disorderly conduct, and two young adults with firearms and reckless conduct counts.  No one was hurt after a student argument spilled into the parking lot of the school on Feldwood Road, where a gun was fired into the air.

He was supposed to be stopping shoplifters--but police say this loss prevention officer at the North Point Mall Macy's was ripping off the store himself.  Alpharetta Police arrested Harvey Guess for allegedly opening the cash register after hours, and taking some $2,000 cash over a three-month period.  Guess posted $5,000 bond, and the Duluth man is expected in court next month.

If you have started the signup process to buy health insurance under the Affordable Care Act. but don't finish by the March 31 deadline, the Obama administration says you will get extra time to complete your application online or on the phone.  There has been a last-minute surge in signups as the deadline approaches; more than one million people logged on to the site Monday alone.  The overall open enrollment deadline is not being extended.  Those who do not sign up by the end of March will not have another chance to buy subsidized marketplace insurance until November 15, for coverage to begin January 2015.

A real-life "Scandal" for actor Columbus Short. TMZ reports the 31-year-old known as the gladiator-in-a-suit Harrison Wright on the ABC hit show "Scandal" is under criminal investigation after sucker-punching a guy talking smack in a Los Angeles bar.  A witness claims the 37-year-old made a crack about being able to to buy Short's wife, and that that's when Short walked up and hit the man from behind, knocking him unconscious for several minutes.

If your head hurts, your back aches, your eyes blur, your neck bothers you--you may be suffering "digital eye strain."  Erin Hildreth with the Vision Council says we never really get a break from it because we are almost always using electronic devices which could cause problems: computers at work, and smartphones, tablets, and/or TVs at home.  Her advice: sit far enough from the computer so your arm barely reaches the screen, and remember the 20/20 rule: Every 20 minutes, take 20 seconds to look at something 20 feet away.  Digital eye strain is now one of the leading workplace complaints.

There is a new lead in the search for debris from Malaysia Flight 370.  French radar has picked up 122 objects investigators will check out.  Heavy winds in that section of the Indian Ocean kept searchers from working all day Tuesday.

Your child's doll may be too hot to handle.  Wal-Mart is recalling 174,000 My Sweet Love/My Sweet Baby electronic dolls.  The electronic baby babbles when she gets sick.  The CPSC says the circuit board can overheat and make the doll hot to the touch; there have been complaints lodged that the toy has burned a dozen kids--two of them so badly, they got blisters on their fingers.  You are urged to take the toy away from your child, remove the batteries, then return it to Wal-Mart for a full refund.

Brookhaven breaks away from DeKalb County's 911 Center, criticizing the response time.  The City Council claims that it takes 10 to 20 minutes for their police officers to get all of the necessary information from dispatchers.  Brookhaven will join the Chattahoochee River Authority nicknamed "Chatcomm."  Chatcomm's emergency dispatch center serves the cities of Johns Creek, Sandy Springs, and Dunwoody.

Send a text to 911.  Starting April 1, Verizon Wireless customers in Paulding County will have the ability to text 911 in an emergency.  The service is primarily intended for those who cannot make a voice call to dispatchers--for example, if a person is deaf or mute, or if someone is unable to call because they are the victim of an abduction or home invasion.  Paulding County 911 Director David Mumford believes the service will soon spread statewide.
Hopes are fading for finding anyone still alive after that massive Washington mudslide.   The death toll is at 16 with about 180 still missing.
